A bed tonight, and a way forward after.

Haven House has 80 shelter beds, three hot meals a day and a twelve-month recovery program for men and women who want to start over. The first night has no conditions.

A year at Haven House

Recovery takes a year, and then some.

Marcus arrived on a January night with a backpack and nothing else. Twelve months later he handed his own keys to the next resident. This is roughly how that year went.

  1. Night one

A hot meal, a shower and a bed. No conditions, and no lecture.

  2. Month one

A case worker, a medical check and a safe, sober room.

  3. Months two to nine

Counselling, classes, chores, chapel and friendships that last.

  4. Months ten to twelve

Job training, savings and a housing plan.

  5. Graduation

A new home, a job, and a community still cheering.

Haven House takes no government money. Neighbours, churches and local businesses pay for every bed and every meal.
